On December 24, 1971, LANSA Flight 508 caught fire in the air. At that time, 93 passengers were traveling in the airplane. The airplane crashed into the Peruvian rainforest.
Fell 3 Km from the Plane
When the airplane was flying, a fierce thunderstorm and lightning fell on the airplane, and the plane exploded in the air. Meanwhile, Juliane Koepcke, who was 17 years old at that time, fell thousands of feet from the airplane.
Among 93 passengers, she was the only one who survived. There was a very dense forest below with abundant bushes and trees, which worked as a cushion and saved her life. On falling, her collar bone was broken, her right arm was hurt, and her right eye got swollen.
Survived for 11 Days In The Rainforest
Juliane Koepcke had no survival training, nor did she have any items that could help her. One thing Juliane Koepcke remembered was taught by her parents that “if you get lost in the woods, the best way is to find the way to the river.” There are often villages near the river, so the chances of being rescued are high. Juliane Koepcke was left all alone after the crash.
She had only a little information and nothing else. Soon she found a narrow river, which she followed for 9 days. She found a canoe (a light boat) and a place to rest. There she waited and was saved by two loggers.
In this terrible accident, she was the only one who survived because she had little knowledge about the forest which her parents had taught. But the sad part is that everyone else was dead, including her mother.

24 दिसंबर, 1971 को, Launa Flight 508 मे हवा में आग लग गई। उस समय, 93 यात्री हवाई जहाज में यात्रा कर रहे थे। हवाई जहाज पेरू के वर्षावन में दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया।

अकेले जंगल मे रही 11 दिन।
Juliane Koepcke का पहले ऐसे जंगल मे रहने की कोई training नहीं ली थी, न ही उनके पास कोई वस्तु थी जो उनकी मदद कर सकती थी। लेकिन एक बात Juliane Koepcke को याद किया था कि उनके माता-पिता ने सिखाया था कि “यदि आप जंगल में खो जाते हैं, तो बाहर निकालने का सबसे अच्छा तरीका है नदी के रास्ते को ढूंढना। “
अक्सर नदी के पास गांव होते हैं, इसलिए बचाए जाने की संभावना अधिक होती है।
उनके पास केवल थोड़ी सी जानकारी थी। जल्द ही उन्हे एक सकरी सी नदी मिली, जिसे उन्होने 9 दिनों के लिए follow किया। वहाँ उन्हे एक छोटी नाव और आराम करने के लिए एक जगह मिली। वहां वह इंतजार कर रही थी और वहीं पर दो लड़की काटने वालों की नज़र उन पर पड़ी और उनको बचा लिया गया।
इस भयानक दुर्घटना में, वह अकेली थी जो बच गई थी क्योंकि उनको उस जंगल के बारे में कम से कम थोड़ा तो ज्ञान था जिसे उनके माता-पिता ने सिखाया था। लेकिन दुखद बात यह है कि जहाज़ मे मौजूद बाकी सभी मर चुके थी जिनमे उनकी माँ भी शामिल थी।
