He was born on 6 April 1931 in Boston. He is a very famous spiritual guru of America. Along with this, he is also a psychologist and author.

He completed his schooling from Williston Northampton School, and after that, he studied a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University. After that, he earned a master’s degree in psychology from Wesleyan University. Not only this, after that, he also did a PhD in Psychology from Stanford University.

In 1967, Alpert travelled to India, where he met American spiritual seeker Bhagavan Das and later met Neem Karoli Baba.

Neem Karoli Baba gave him a new name, Ram Dass which means incarnation of God as Ram. After this, Ram Dass went back to America, and he did many spiritual works, founded the charity.

He donated the money earned from all his books to charity. He used to make around $100000 to $ 80000 annually at that time. He donated all that to charity.

He died in the year 2019, 22 December at the age of 88.
