Who Was Ruby Bridges?
Ruby Bridges was born on September 8, 1954, in Tylertown (Mississippi). Including her, she had eight siblings. She was born in extreme poverty, and in that period, people were fighting for their rights, especially black Americans.
She was four years old when her family moved to New Orleans. After two years, when she was six years old, she gave a test in African American School. This test was taken so that it can be known that who can study in an all-white school.
She was a brilliant child, and she also passed the test. After this, her admission was made to a school, William Frantz Elementary School. in the same city.
Ruby Bridges’s father was not ready to send her to that school because he was afraid of fighting or quarreling. But mother was in support of Ruby Bridges.
Including her, six other children also had tried for admission in that school, in which only Ruby bridges were admitted.

Ruby Bridges that due to her bravery and fighting for the right, she helped lakhs of people and children who could not live their life correctly due to that color difference.
She proved that school is for all people and not for blacks or whites. There should not be a “White School” or African Black School” but a school where the future generation can study together.
Later on, Ruby Bridges also started a foundation called the Ruby Bridges Foundation and formed a Ruby Bridges school of social justice and community service.
