Fred Hampton Quotes | Fred Hampton was born on 30 August 1948 in Argo. He spent his childhood in Maywood. He was a American civil rights leader and deputy chairman of the Black Panther Party’s Illinois chapter formed the city of Chicago’s first “Rainbow Coalition.

He completed his studies in two schools, Irving Elementary School and Proviso East High School. During college, Fred Hampton did many different jobs so that he could pay his college fees.

What made him famous?

He was a American civil rights leader and deputy chairman of the Black Panther Party’s Illinois chapter formed the city of Chicago’s first “Rainbow Coalition.

He organized rallies, established a Free Breakfast program, and negotiated a peace pact among rival gangs. As a rising leader in the BPP, Hampton became the focus of an FBI investigation.

He also faced jail.

In 1968, Hampton was accused of assaulting an ice cream truck driver, stealing $71 worth of ice cream bars, and giving them to kids in the street. He was convicted in May 1969 and sentenced to two to five years in prison.
