Alexander The Great Quotes | Alexander the Great was an ancient Macedonian ruler who conquered an empire that stretched from Greece to India. He was a powerful leader who believed in divine destiny and was determined to create a united world under a single government. Alexander was born in 356 BC.

He was the son of King Philip II of Macedon and Olympias of Epirus. He was trained in war under the tutelage of the famous philosopher Aristotle.

When Alexander succeeded his father as King of Macedonia, he was only twenty years old. He soon set out to realize his ambition of conquering the world. In 334 BC he led his army across the Hellespont into Asia Minor.

He quickly defeated the Persian army and was defeated in 333 BC. Persian ruler Darius III. at the Battle of Issus. Within five years, he conquered the Persian Empire, which stretched from Egypt to India.

In addition to his military achievements, Alexander is also known for his cultural achievements. He was a great patron of the arts and facilitated the exchange of ideas between East and West.

He built cities throughout his vast empire and spread Greek culture and language throughout the region. He also undertook many ambitious construction projects, including rebuilding the ancient city of Babylon in Iraq.
